DRT Committed to Assist with Typhoon Maysak

DRT is pleased to report that they have committed to assist in the relief for victims of Super Typhoon Maysak, which hit the Federated States of Micronesia on March 29, 2015. The photo to the left from Micronesia Red Cross Society depicts damage being reported as the worst natural disaster to hit in 20 – 30 years.
DRT Delivers 60 Pallets of Medical Supplies

DRT is pleased to report that it delivered over 24,000 lbs. of medical relief supplies to the Navy’s medical mission ship the USNS Mercy and the USNS Millinocket. These medical supplies will aide disaster victims and those desperately in need of humanitarian aid in Fuji, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Kirbati, Micronesia and the Solomon Islands. Relief Efforts In Vanuatu

DRT is pleased to announce that it aided in the relief efforts in Vanuatu, an island chain in the South Pacific between Australia and Fiji. On March 14, Cyclone Pam, a category-five storm, damaged 90% of Vanuatu’s buildings. The news clip to the left showing an AP news service photo reveals the extent of the damage.

Meet Bud Drake DRT’s Newest Board Member
Bud is a man of many talents, accomplishments and experiences who is too humble to allow us to list them. Bud and his wife Irene have lived in Riverside since 1970 and raised three wonderful daughters. He is a man of faith, family, charity and service. He has served as the Executive Director of Riverside’s Christian Family Counseling Service for 40 years, he is an ordained minister, holds an honorary doctorate in Administration and Religious Studies and is an accomplished guitar player who can be found at the Back Street Restaurant in Riverside during the Tuesday lunch hour of 11 am to noon. We are grateful to have you on board Bud!

Meet DRT’s New Executive Director-Kevin Tippets
As Executive Director of Disaster Relief Transport, Inc., Kevin will oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate relief efforts with partner Relief Organizations as well as direct DRT’s fundraising and grant procurement. Kevin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University with a BA in Organizational Psychology. Kevin was recruited directly from college by American Stores into their management training program before joining Contain-A-Way, Inc. in the CA Beverage Container Recycling industry were he worked for the past 24 years. Kevin lives in Riverside with his wife Wendee and three lovely daughters Austyn, Kelsi and Kasey. Welcome to DRT Kevin.

New Director Onboard
Disaster Relief Transport is pleased to announce the appointment of a new director / legal, Attorney Benjamin Yrungaray. Mr. Yrungaray graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA in International Studies with University Honors. Prior to law school, Mr. Yrungaray worked for Microsoft providing support for web applications. Mr. Yrungaray earned his juris doctorate from the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. Welcome Mr. Yrungaray to DRT’s team.
